it's been long since our last mother nature bonding expedition. the last was back when we were still in johor, i think. our trip last thursday was to shah alam's taman botani negara, previously known as taman pertanian bukit cahaya seri alam. way before that, the name was bukit cerakah - which was also the name when i was there the last time, some 23 years ago during rombongan taski abim in 1988. wahh.. lama nye. turned out, loh kong's last visit was also in that year. hmm.. wonder if we actually passed by each other but never knew it.. ewahh!
over excited, i couldn't help but google abt the place the day before, so reading ppl's blog abt it, i just knew it was gonna be a wonderful place to go to. turns out - memang betul! we had sooo much fun! not only because of the greatness of the place, but since we went on a weekday, there were less people - it felt like we had the place all to ourselves!
the place is huge, sprawling a nearly 1,300 hectars of lush greenery, ponds & lakes. there's a free bus service inside that can shuttle you from place to place within the park. but, if you're really in for some adventure, rent a bicycle instead - it's cheap, it's fun and it burns calories too. well, you will suffer from a post-3-days-bottom-and-leg-ache, but didn't i just say it'll be fun? seriously, it's worth all the bruises on anyone's bum.
after hours of cycling, exploring the parks and going crazy inside the swimming pool, it rained. it wasn't so disappointing because the rain kind of became a signal, telling us that it was time to head home. turned out, we were there for more than 4 hours already! tak sedar langsung. no wonder during the end, it felt as if we had no energy lift our legs and cycle away. perut pun rupenya dah lapar.. so, we skipped going to the fruit orchard (teringin nak makan durian ngan buah koko sebenarnya) and several other spots inside the park. oh, we also missed going to the 4 season house, which was closed temporarily for seasonal changing works.

mandi juga walaupun tak bersedia. no one else was around, best sgt! +
