i haven't been updating this blog for quite some time. don't know why. just so freaking malas. and... it's august already! cepat sungguh masa berlalu kan. 4 months and it'll be a new year. since i don't really know what to write this time, i'll just jumble things up according to whatever that pops inside ok.
Ramadhan in JB
well, this month has been quite interesting. first because it's Ramadhan, of course. the fasting month this year has been fantastic. it's our first time fasting here in jb. supposedly jb has lots of places to buy yumy yummy food; food outlets yg macam heaven (asam pedas, murtabak s'pore, laksa johor, mi bandung), bazar Ramadhan yang superb, etc... BUT entah kenape, we have been eating homemade food mostly everyday since Day 1. loh kong is quite demanding when it comes to buying ready made food - on taste and on hygiene level. i use to not really care - i can eat anything and be happy. but now, i have to admit... i'm getting fussy too! i used to be a McD addict; makan McD 3 - 4 times a week. but now, tengok gcb burger baru tu pun macam takde nafsu. does this mean i'm getting older? daymmm!
Cooking with Baby M in the Kitchen
well, cooking for buka puasa this year is wayyyy better than last year. i had to deal with baby M who was in an active crawling and shrieking stage last year. this year, baby M lebih siuman - at least she understands when i say "jangan pegang tu, dapur tu panas!!". she's going to be 2 y.o. in about 2 months and is getting more creative by day. lately, when i'm in the kitchen preparing makanan utk berbuka, she will get a plastic chair and push it close to the sink, climb on it and demand that i turn the tap on so that she can play with water. well, at first i opposed to such idea because takut dia jatuh and stuff, but seeing that by doing so gives me some 20 mins free from her harassing me, i slowly gave in - siap bagi dia mangkuk plastik ngan sudu utk main ngan air tu.. hoho.. loh kong cukup tak suke, but wth... cooking with a toddler who craves your attention 24/7 is not easy. sometimes you just have to break the rules in order to survive - and breathe! ask any mommies out there.
Big Secret Revealed
now, this is a different story altogether. how would you react if you found out that someone really close to you has a secret love child? well, earlier this month i was told exactly that! she is someone really dear to me and her love child is 17 years old sudah! something i would never have ever guessed coming from her! seriously, peristiwa 17 tahun yang lalu! yeah, call me overreacting. but this is really big news to me. it didn't come out from her, but someone close to her and boy, i wasn't ready for such news. well, anyway, when the child was 2 years mcm tu, she got married to the man who got her pregnant in the first place. but until today, the child lives with the grandparents, not her birth parents. well, having a child out of wedlock sounds terrible... but it is still much better compared to buang bayi kan?
Syurga Dunia
loh kong introduced me to this blogsite http://syurgadidunia.blogspot.com/ and i've been spending 2 nites in a row reading the entries. love how the author explains and relates between heavy serious issues with simple words and examples. his entry on islamic banking like use of duit kertas, taking car loans & housing loans is an eye opener. perhaps it's not new to some of you, but to me it is. i've always had doubts on these issues before tapi sgt malas nak ambil tahu. and his entries on husband-wife issues are totally spot on. love his points and solutions to questions that came from readers. tak poyo, tak de ala2 alim dan paling penting tak one sided. well, i haven't finished reading everything but setakat ni, the contents are good. (tak taulah kalau nnt terstumble on something yang pelik atau tetibe ade unsur wahabi ke kan...)
ok so that's it. a series of "the so many" things happening this month.

betul what u say...sometimes have to give in to the little one who craves for ur attention but u r too busy to give her some! i let nabila plays with plastic bowls and containers when i do stuff in the kitchen...i have actually 1 drawer in the kitchen where she can geledah while i cook or do dishes...
